Real Estate Mentor Reviews In Miami: 10 Questions to Ask Past Students
Star ratings tell you how someone felt. They rarely tell you what happened. If you’re reading real estate mentor reviews in Miami before you commit any money, the most useful thing you can do is go one step further and speak to a past student yourself.
Reviews are still worth reading, and we’d never say otherwise. But a conversation lets you ask the awkward follow-ups. Here are ten questions we’d ask, grouped by what they uncover.

Why reviews alone leave gaps
A five-star review might come from someone who loved the classroom sessions and never made an offer. A three-star review might come from someone who wanted a guarantee nobody can give. Neither tells you how the mentoring worked on a real deal. Some reviews are also written within days of joining, before any results could exist.
That’s why we suggest reading reviews for detail, such as named deals, timelines and what the mentor actually did, and then asking about the rest. Our guide on reading real estate mentor reviews without getting fooled by fake ones covers the first half of this.
Questions about the mentor
- Who was your mentor, and how often did you actually speak?
- How quickly did they reply when something went wrong on a deal?
- Did the same person stay with you from start to finish?
Questions about deals
- Did you close a deal, and how long was it from your first lead to your first offer?
- What did your mentor change about your first analysis?
- What went wrong along the way, and how did the mentor handle it?

Questions about money
- What did you pay, and what wasn’t covered by that price?
- How did funding work, and how fast did it come through?
On that last one, qualified BPM REIA members can access up to 100% deal funding through our private lender network, with terms typically back within 24 to 48 hours. We’re happy for you to ask a member how that played out for them.
Questions about what came after
- What support did you get once the formal programme ended?
- Knowing what you know now, would you join again?
The last one is a good one to end on. Listen to how quickly they answer, and how they say it.
What good and worrying answers sound like
Once you’re talking to a past student, this is how to read what you hear.
| Topic | A good sign | A worrying sign |
|---|---|---|
| Mentor access | A named mentor who replied quickly | Hard to reach, or passed between different people |
| Deals | Specific deals and timelines described | Vague talk of "results" with no detail |
| Money | Clear about the price and any extras | Unsure what the price covered |
| After the programme | Ongoing events, community and support | Support ended when the programme did |
How to reach past students
Ask the programme directly for people you can speak to, and be wary if they can only offer written testimonials. You can also come along to one of our events and talk to members in person, which is often the quickest way. Our real estate mentor reviews in Miami and real estate mentor reviews pages show what students have written, and our Google reviews add more detail.
What we’d ask ourselves
It works both ways. We’d like you to put these same questions to us. Anish Dave, our president, has closed over $250 million in transactions across 25 years and sits on the National REIA Board. Our mentors, including Victoria and Harry Diamond and Michael and Maby Johnston, are investors with their own track records. Ask what each of them has closed recently, and where.
If you’d like to talk it through, book a Discovery Call and bring your list. Our real estate mentorship program page shows what each level includes, and the BPM REIA homepage lists our next event.
